At the heart of industrial equipment projects, the mechanical design technician participates in the creation, development, and optimization of mechanical solutions, as well as in the production of technical documentation, in collaboration with engineering teams. The position is for someone meticulous and conscientious, who values teamwork and well-done work.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Mechanical design

· Analyze needs, specifications, and technical requirements to understand functional and technical requirements.

· Contribute to the development of solutions and the design of mechanical components of equipment.

· Carry out detailed design of 3D models, assembly drawings, and drafting of different parts of the equipment.

· Participate in solving technical problems.

2. Quality and documentation of the design

· Produce 3D drawings, assembly drawings, and their drafting using the design tools used at STAS.

· Produce and maintain the technical documentation required for manufacturing, assembly, and procurement.

· Respect and apply internal methods, as well as applicable standards, laws, regulations, and design criteria.

3. Interdisciplinary collaboration and support

· Generate the information required for the procurement of mechanical components

· Ensure adequate communication with other departments regarding the progress of work under their responsibility.

· Meet agreed deadlines for deliverables assigned to them.

· Provide the required technical support for manufacturing and assembly to facilitate understanding and use of design deliverables.

· Provide occasional technical support, especially during estimates and post-sales support.

Job requirements

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  1. DEC in mechanical engineering OR equivalent professional experience.

  2. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar position.

  3. Experience with SolidWorks and AutoCAD software.

  4. Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.

  5. Relevant experience in industrial mechanical design (an asset).
